About the Event
Élodie Malanda received her PhD from the Sorbonne Nouvelle University (Paris) for her work on the representation of the African continent in children’s and YA novels in France and Germany. She’s currently a Postdoctoral Humboldt Fellow at the Saarland University (Germany), researching Afropean children’s and YA literature in France and Germany. She has worked as an educational projects manager in the International Youth Library in Munich, as a script doctor and screenwriter, and as a dancer. She’s also been blogging about creative ways to deal with cancer.
Her book about the pitfalls of good intentions in children’s and youth novels about Africa has been published in France (Honoré Champion) in 2019.
